Since september 2004 the CFL received 85 new double-decker cars, which should replace the 40 years old Wegmann coaches. The CFL cars have been derived from a double-decker type which the DB got since the year 2000 called DBpbdza 765. A little later the DSB also received these new double-decker cars. In general these type of cars is called "Double-decker cars new generation".
The CFL have received in 2004/2005 the following double-decker cars from Bombardier Görlitz:

18 driving-cars DABpbdzfa registered as 50 82 86-70 001 to 018 (low floor)

15 intermediate cars 1rst./2nd class DABpza registered as 50 82 36-70 019 to 033 (high floor)

52 intermediate cars 2nd class DBpza registered as 50 82 26-70 034 to 085 (high floor)

Type of coach
DAB double-decker car with seats 1st and 2nd class accomodation / DB double-decker car with seats 2nd class accomodation
p = open or corridor car with air-conditioning for local & long-distance traffic
z = car equipped with central energy supply from the main power line (without axle-generator)
a = car equipped with a technical dispach system for train departure (without conductor)
b = special equipment for handicapped persons in wheelchairs (including toilet for diabled persons)
d = with equipment for the transportation of bicycles or with a multifunctional compartment
f = coach with a driving cabin for push&pull driving (driving connection with 36 connectors and/or ZWS)
THE MODELS
The modells have all the specifications of the CFL original cars. All cars are equipped with interior lights. The destination panels are also illuminated. The front lamps change color from white (engine is pushing) to red (engine is pulling).A digital decoder (ESU) can be installed in the driving-car.
The cars are not sold individually but only in sets. The details of the differents sets are listed in the table. There is the possibility to order each set for continious courant operating (DC) or for alternative courant operating (AC).
In the sets 4108/4208 and 4114/4214 are included the carnumbers which run, together wich CFL engines 4010 and 4009 at BLS in Switzerland.
The HO model has been realized in cooperation with the CFL.
